Olestra (the fat the body doesn't recognize as fat) This "fat free" additive attaches to vital nutrients and flushes them out of the body. OK...common sense people.  This non-fat has a health hazard warning on the package, ever see it? This Product Contains Olestra. Olestra may cause abdominal cramping and loose stools. Olestra inhibits the absorption of some vitamins and other nutrients. Vitamins A, D, E, and K have been added.


BPA in plastics:  "A study published in the September 17, 2008 edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association found that people with high concentrations of BPA in their urine had a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and liver-enzyme abnormalities. " 

Plastics in the kitchen this link provides lists of food storage containers that do not have BPA.  Ziploc baggies, Saran Wrap, Brita Pitchers and Pyrex are listed as safe.
